1. Acceptance

By accessing or using ScholarMind AI 科研平台 (the "Service") at academic.hopeembark.org, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. What the Service is

The Service provides AI-assisted research tools — research-topic discovery, topic analysis, data visualization, and writing assistance — for educational purposes. Topic discovery searches public dataset repositories (Hugging Face, the UCI Machine Learning Repository, Kaggle) and links to the original dataset pages. The Service does not host, store, or redistribute dataset files, academic papers, or publisher content.

3. AI-generated content (important)

Tool outputs are generated by AI models and are provided "as is" for informational and educational purposes only. They may be inaccurate, incomplete, or include fabricated references or citations. They do not constitute professional, academic, legal, medical, or financial advice. You are responsible for independently verifying all facts, citations, methods, and dataset licenses before relying on or publishing any output.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to: use the Service unlawfully; attempt to disrupt, overload, or reverse-engineer it; use it to generate harmful, infringing, or deceptive content; submit others' personal or confidential data without authorization; or use outputs to train a competing AI model in violation of our model providers' terms.

5. Third-party datasets and content

Datasets surfaced by the Service are the property of their respective owners and are governed by their own licenses, which vary (e.g. CC0, CC BY, CC BY-NC, or custom/unknown terms). The Service displays the license where available, but you must verify the license on the source page and comply with it — especially for commercial use, redistribution, or derivative works. The Service is a referrer only and makes no warranty about third-party datasets.

6. Intellectual property

The Service's own software, design, and content are owned by ScholarMind AI. Third-party names and logos (e.g. Hugging Face, Kaggle, UCI) are shown solely to identify the sources we link to and remain the property of their owners.

7. Payments and subscriptions

Where paid features are offered, prices, billing terms, and refund policy will be presented at purchase and processed by our payment provider (Stripe). Paid terms are incorporated into these Terms when you subscribe.

8. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. To the maximum extent permitted by law, ScholarMind AI is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for decisions made in reliance on AI-generated output or third-party datasets.

9. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

10. Governing law & contact

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable at ScholarMind AI's principal place of business, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Questions: mpa@hopeembark.org.

11. Takedown & content complaints

The Service links to third-party datasets and shows AI-generated text; it does not host third-party dataset files or academic papers. If you believe content surfaced or linked by the Service infringes your intellectual-property or other rights, or should be removed, email mpa@hopeembark.org with the subject line "Takedown" and include: (a) the URL or identifier of the material; (b) a description of the issue and the right you hold; (c) your contact details; and (d) a good-faith statement. We will review and respond promptly, and remove or de-link material where appropriate.
